2015 REVIEW: ASHEVILLE

As we starting thinking about our final issue for 2015, we had a few items on our wish list: delicious food was a must, the city had to have a voice of its own, and incredible creatives were a no-brainer. We'd discovered the wintery paradise of Montreal and stayed closed to the Midwest with Columbus. Soon it was clear: the mountains were calling and to Asheville we went!

Graphic designer and letterpress guru Macon York set the scene with an incredible map.

Jen Nathan Orris & Rich Orris tempted our taste buds with a look at Hole Doughnut and their original recipe for maraschino cherries.

We discovered the majesty of the Blue Ridge Mountains with hiking legend Jennifer Pharr Davis and through the photography of Chelsea Lane

Ashley Little gave us a peek into the studio of glass sculptor Arlie Trowbridge and learned about her point of view as an artist.

We discovered the passion behind Shelter Protects You...

....and the beautiful design in Smoke Signal's hearth-baked breads & pies.

To say we fell in love with Asheville is an understatement (look at the beauty of the Biltmore through the lens of Allison Mannella!) We grooved to tunes curated by Joe Chang of the Golden Light and found amazing street style with Leslie Frempong.

And man oh man, how can we forget the music and mountains so beautifully portrayed in Carolyn Stotts' cover photo?

2015 was a good year. And we can't wait for 2016!
